The Barnet Islamic Centre is excited to announce our ambitious New Mosque Project, a journey of faith, perseverance, and community spirit. With your support, we aim to raise £2 million to complete this remarkable project, ensuring a lasting legacy for generations to come, InshaAllah.
Our Journey So Far
• 2020: Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, we successfully completed the purchase of our new site in May. Alhamdulillah!
• 2021: Minor renovations made the building functional with wudu areas, a prayer space, and a small sisters’ area. We began hosting 5 daily prayers, Jumm’ah, Ramadan prayers, and community iftars.
• 2022: By the grace of Allah, we became a debt-free mosque. Alhamdulillah!
• 2023: After navigating planning challenges, we secured Barnet Council’s approval for a design perfectly suited to our community’s needs.
• 2024: With Allah’s will, we are ready to build a beautiful mosque that will serve our community for decades, InshaAllah.
Vision for the Future
Our new mosque will provide state-of-the-art facilities to meet the spiritual, educational, and social needs of our growing community:
• Dedicated prayer areas for brothers and sisters with separate entrances.
• Brothers’ and sisters’ wudu facilities.
• A well-equipped kitchen for Ramadan and small events.
• Dedicated classrooms for children and adults.
• Multipurpose community areas.
• Youth club and elderly support facilities.
• Improved Maktab resources for our children.
